On February 27, the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Rehabilitation of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University hosted the grand opening of the Winter School as part of the European Union Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project “Integration of European Values into Ukrainian Education, Science and Sport ” (EVUESS).
The school was attended by 1-2 year students majoring in 014.11 “Secondary Education (Physical Education)”.
At the beginning of the meeting:
Project Coordinator, Associate Professor Yaroslav Galan spoke about key European values, opportunities for students within the project, and the importance of integrating European experience into Ukrainian education.
The Dean of the Faculty, Professor Yuriy Moseychuk, emphasized the importance of this initiative for the educational process in modern conditions. He also spoke about previous events held within the project and their impact on students and the educational community. The professor emphasized that such events contribute to the development of professional competencies of future specialists, broadening their horizons and adapting to modern European approaches in the field of education, science and sports.
Professor Yaroslav Zoriy familiarized the participants with the basic principles of European education and their adaptation in Ukraine.
The Head of the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Culture, Associate Professor Ivan Vaskan, emphasized that student participation in such an international project is a significant advantage of the educational program.
The participants of the winter school joined the creation of drawings that reflected the basic values of the European Union. The topics of the works included sports, fair play, equality, and inclusion. Particular attention was paid to the use of the colors of the Ukrainian flag and the EU flag, which symbolizes unity and common values.
There are still many interesting things to come: fascinating lectures and discussions, important meetings with experts, and a ceremonial presentation of certificates.
The project is co-funded by the European Union and promotes the integration of European values into education, science and sports in Ukraine.
