On May 18, 2026, an important event took place at the Volodymyr Hnatiuk Ternopil National Pedagogical University as part of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module project “Integration of European Values into Ukrainian Education, Science and Sports” (EVUESS), co-funded by the European Union.

Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University is the coordinator of this project, whose main goal is to integrate and promote European values in the fields of education, science, and sports, as well as to strengthen cooperation with higher education institutions in Ukraine.

As part of the event, a guest lecture was delivered by members of the project team, dedicated to the promotion of European values in the Ukrainian educational, scientific, and sports spheres. Particular attention was paid to issues of democracy, respect for human dignity, academic integrity, partnership, openness, solidarity, and shared responsibility for the future of Ukraine.

During the meeting, project coordinator Yaroslav Halan, Ph.D. in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor, presented the main results of the EVUESS implementation, key achievements, activities conducted, and future opportunities for the development of international academic cooperation.

Another member of the project team is Yuriy Moseychuk Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, Sports, and Rehabilitation, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, and Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine who emphasized the importance of disseminating the project’s results, strengthening inter-university cooperation, and implementing joint initiatives in the fields of education, science, and sports.

During the lecture, significant attention was paid to the initiatives implemented within the EVUESS project, including the opening of the Bench of Unity, the Jean Monnet Room, events held for Europe Day in Ukraine, winter and summer schools, roundtables, an international conference, and other important activities. These initiatives served as a practical embodiment of the project’s ideas and contributed to the promotion of European values among students, academic and teaching staff, and young people.

Viktor Shandrygos – Candidate of Sciences in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education at the Volodymyr Hnatiuk Ternopil National Pedagogical University, Honored Coach of Ukraine, Master of Sports of Ukraine opened the event, welcomed the lecture participants, and highlighted the importance of implementing international educational projects for fostering cooperation among higher education institutions.

The lecture took place with the support of Andriy Ognisty Ph.D. in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor, and Head of the Department of Physical Education and Rehabilitation at Volodymyr Hnatiuk Ternopil National Pedagogical University. His support was a key component in organizing the event and fostering partnership between universities within the project.

The event served as a platform for exchanging experiences, discussing current issues in the development of education, science, and sports, as well as engaging students in the topics of European values and international academic activities.

Holding such a guest lecture is particularly important, as the EVUESS project is in its final stage of implementation, and its results are already contributing to the formation of a modern educational environment, the development of active youth, and the strengthening of partnerships among higher education institutions in Ukraine.

During the event, a survey was conducted among students the lecture participants which will allow us to assess their vision, attitudes, and understanding of the processes of integrating European values into Ukrainian education, science, and sports. After the lecture, all participants will receive digital certificates as part of this project.

Together, we are shaping a space where European values become a living practice, the foundation of cooperation, and a guide for new generations 💙💛
